Stop Faking and Start Making
Fake it 'til you make it
This has been a blanket statement for much of my life achievements to this date. It was a pretty nifty mind trick because I was able to overcome a lot of self-imposed limitations by faking things which actually enabled me to go above and beyond to actually start making things. While it does work, however, too much of anything is bad. From being a life hack, it has now become an excuse. Overconfidence in faking a lot of things actually backfired and has now become a burden to execute actual progress.
And while making resolutions at the start of the year is a cliche, this post is a promise to myself to stop faking things and go back to putting actual work to make things -- which is the primary essence of the statement for it to actually work.
